PRPMD’s Infection Prevention Protocol (COVID-19)

PRPMD appreciates your cooperation in helping to prevent infection. Our screening and infection prevention protocol applies to our team and our patients alike throughout the year. Recently, COVID-19, also known as the coronavirus is making headlines as it has been associated with more severe respiratory outcomes especially in older people or those with weakened immune systems and have other illnesses.

At PRPMD, we will be asking anyone who has active cold symptoms such as cough, shortness of breath, fever, running nose, sore throat, and/or general malaise symptoms whether you’ve traveled within the past 14 days or if you’ve been in contact with someone who has traveled, we need to know this as well. 

IF YOU ARE EXPERIENCING ANY OF THESE SYMPTOMS, UNFORTUNATELY YOUR APPOINTMENT WILL BE CANCELLED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. 

You will also be asked to contact 811 to direct you to where a throat Swab test is taken to confirm the infectious agent. 

Ways to Help yourself Stay HealthyLifestyle and Prevention tips

· Practice Frequent Hand Hygiene at all times.  We suggest you to carry alcohol spray / gel with you at all times and use regularly to keep hands clean. Wash your hands often with soap under warm running water for at least 20 seconds.· Cover your mouth and nose with your elbow when you sneeze or cough to reduce the spread of germs.· If you use a tissue, dispose of it as soon as possible and wash your hands afterwards.

• Avoid touching your eyes, mouth or nose before      washing your hands.
• Avoid contact with live animals in markets or      farms
• Maintain proper  restorative sleep and adequate hydration

· Practice regular non-fatiguing exercise to help reduce stress and build resilience
· Wear a mask if you have active symptoms
